Movie producer Marcia Deans, a native of Spanish Town, is set to make waves not only with her upcoming documentary, ‘For the Love of Reggae,’ but also with her groundbreaking strides in introducing cutting-edge technology to bolster the Jamaican film industry.
Currently in Jamaica, Deans is actively promoting her project, which delves into the rich history and evolution of Jamaican Dancehall Reggae music. Speaking to DancehallMag, she shared her deep connection with Jamaica and the inspiration drawn from the annual ‘Rebel Salute’ event.
“I come here for a purpose – to meet these amazing artists for a project I’m working on, ‘For the Love of Reggae.’ It’s a documentary about the evolution of our great music,” Deans said. She is presently collaborating with JAMPRO and seeking a grant for filmmakers to ensure the successful completion of her cinematic endeavor.
