D’Yani looking to release EP this year

fter saturating the airwaves and playlists with songs, including Birthday, Heaven Telegram, Letter, Made for This,
and the hit collaboration Feelings (remix) featuring Jada Kingdom, singer D’Yani is gearing up to release an EP.

“After releasing Feelings, so much has been happening. I’ve been releasing singles and doing shows overseas. It’s just to get the brand known worldwide,” D’Yani shared in an interview with the Jamaica Observer last Saturday at the Barbican Astra Turf in Kingston.

D’Yani, who keeps fit by playing a game of football at least twice per week, says his forthcoming EP will give fans more of an identity to his brand.

“Yes, we a prepare for a project. I can’t disclose much, but we have a couple singles out right now like Ambiance and Lock N Key which we are promoting. We get a couple hjits and now is the time to solidify a project fi give some identity to what brand D’Yani is,” the artiste disclosed.

Lock N Key, produced by 9X Music, was released February 21.

The singer says his most recent sojourn in the United Kingdom opened his eyes to the fanbase that he has outside of Jamaica.

Morgan Siblings Break Silence On Peetah’s Death, Announce March 7 Date For Memorial

Gramps, Taliba, and Lukes Morgan, three siblings of the late Peter “Peetah” Morgan, have shared heartfelt tributes on Instagram, remembering the former lead singer of their family’s renowned reggae group, Morgan Heritage.

Peter died on February 25, 2024, at age 46, almost two years after his father, Denroy Morgan. While the family has not officially confirmed the cause of death, the band’s publicist told DancehallMag that Peetah suffered a stroke and died in the United States.

Gramps paid an emotional tribute: “You were the greatest bredda I’ll continue to speak of your work Ethic, your ability to ignore the noise in the market, and your love for this music was like next to none.”

“Fly High My brother my best friend my partner. It still don’t seem real. WORDS WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH. I Got you Little bro Don’t Worry… Fly High with our Daddy.”

Lukes got candid about how the tragedy has shaken him up, admitting that he can’t control his tears.

Movie producer Marcia Deans, a native of Spanish Town, is set to make waves not only with her upcoming documentary, ‘For the Love of Reggae,’ but also with her groundbreaking strides in introducing cutting-edge technology to bolster the Jamaican film industry.

Currently in Jamaica, Deans is actively promoting her project, which delves into the rich history and evolution of Jamaican Dancehall Reggae music. Speaking to DancehallMag, she shared her deep connection with Jamaica and the inspiration drawn from the annual ‘Rebel Salute’ event.

“I come here for a purpose – to meet these amazing artists for a project I’m working on, ‘For the Love of Reggae.’ It’s a documentary about the evolution of our great music,” Deans said. She is presently collaborating with JAMPRO and seeking a grant for filmmakers to ensure the successful completion of her cinematic endeavor.
